Oak Creek opens with the grand entrance to the Bowieville Mansion, the center of attraction and heart of the Village Center.

Built circa 1819-1820, Bowieville Mansion is an elegant 2 1/2 story stuccoed brick antebellum house with a hip roof. Its outstanding decorative elements include a classical entrance with semi-elliptical fanlight and particularly fine interior trim. Bowieville Mansion was built by Mary Bowie on land she inherited from her father, Maryland's first Governor, Robert Bowie. It is recognized as the most sophisticated late Federal-style plantation house of its era.

It has been faithfully restored to its original grandeur with help from the Maryland Historic Preservation Society, and now sits proudly within Prince George's County's premier community of Oak Creek.
